Puyat Steel Corporation is in compliance and adheres to ISO 14788, ASTM A875M for its Galfan product which is the International Standard for Continuous Hot-Dipped Zinc-5% Aluminum Alloy Coated Steel Sheets and Coils. This Standard describes the required specifications for 5% aluminum alloyed coated steel sheet and includes the standard dimension, quality and the coating mass required.
The Galfan Coated Steel has different coating composition compared with that of the regular zinc coated steel. Galfan is a Zinc-Aluminum Alloy Coating, which has an average of 5%-aluminum-95%-zinc as coating composition. This is known as the EUTECTIC COMPOSITION and makes the Galfan's properties different from that of the regular galvanized Zinc Coated Steel. It is an IMPROVED COATING designed to provide better corrosion resistance, better formability and better paintability. In terms of corrosion resistance, Galfan coated sheets in coils gives you a better passive protection than other alloy-coated metal sheets.

Laboratory test conducted by the International Lead Zinc Research Organization (ILZRO) has shown that the cathodic or galvanic protection of Galfan coating on the cut-edge is at 0.500mm on each side. Spread of corrosion is slowed down and the ductility enhanced due to the formation of a coating composition, which is close to "eutectic". (Note: the eutectic phase is a combination of two components where it's melting or solidification temperature is lower than either of its constituents).
Galvanized Iron (GI) Sheets & Coils are manufactured by the first world-class Non-Oxidizing Furnace (NOF) in the country. As per ISO 14788 conforming to JIS G3141 and JIS G3302 standards.

Pre-painted Steel Coils
The quality of Galvanized Iron coils/Sheets and Pre-painted Galvanized Coils produced in our Galvanizing and oven-baked Continuous painting lines can be used to produced elegant roofing and household appliances. APO can also be available in improved flatness quality as specified by the discriminating automotive manufacturer. This is mainly because the NOF line is equipped with stretch/tension leveler which greatly improves the products flatness after galvanizing.
Characteristics of Pre-painted Products. APO takes the most severe deformation with virtually no cracking or flaking: a world-class quality that is not currently available in the country today.

FORMABILITY - Various heat elements are applied to satisfy every final end usage and assure excellent workability.
ATTRACTIVE APPEARANCE - APO Industrial Color Coils have uniform coating and smooth surface. It comes in different colors of medium to high finish.
ECONOMY - Precoated steel sheets can be used without additional coating and rust-proofing, which will speed up production, reduce labor cost, and save substantial coating materials. Obviously, double coating lengthens durability, and results in considerable cost savings when painting is applied. As a result, Puyat Steel's pre-painted steel sheets never suffer from cracking or removal of coating when it is roll-formed, lock-formed.
